meet the year 3 staff

My name is Andy Yates and I have been teaching children for 24 years. I have lived in Clifton all my life. I attended Whitegate Infants and Juniors before joining Fairham Community College. I graduated from Nottingham Trent University as a PE teacher way back in 1998 and have taught in every primary school in Clifton. My background is sport. I am an ex-gymnast and used to box for Notts School of Boxing. I am also married to Mrs Yates who works in Reception.

Hi I am Mr Bakewell, I came back to Dovecote in January 2021 for a second spell teaching here. I guess I must like it! I have been a teacher for 25 years which makes me feel very old. I was born and bred in Nottingham and have lived in Clifton for 17 years. When I’m not in school. I love football. I support Nottingham Forest and manage a girls under 16 team which the eldest of my 2 daughters plays for. I really enjoy being out and about. I enjoy going for a walk with my family- you can see me and my daughters in the park above– or going for a run. I enjoy listening to all sorts of music and also like to read. My favourite place to be is by the sea and I would love to live by the coast one day

My name is Miss Farrow. Over my time at Dovecote I have worked  with most year groups. In my spare time, I like  spending time with my family and going out with friends. I like cooking and listening to different types of music

Hello, my name is Najrana Seedat and I will be supporting the children in Year 3 this year. My own children are grown up and are both working now. I love going to the gym and try to eat healthily

Hello I’m Mel Whittington

I love to spend my free time with my family, exploring new places and having picnics. To help me relax I like to read or go for a walk. One of my favourite quotes is ‘Nothing beats kindness’ I will be working in Year 3 every morning.
