meet the year 3 staff

My name is Andy Yates and I have been teaching children for twenty four years. I have lived in Clifton all my life. I attended Whitegate Infants and Juniors before joining Fairham Community College. I graduated from Nottingham Trent University as a PE teacher way back in 1998 and have taught in every primary school in Clifton. My background is sport. I am an ex-gymnast and used to box for Notts School of Boxing. I am also married to Mrs Yates who works in the Early Years and Year 1.

Hello, I am Mrs Loughran.  I’m very excited to be moving to work with you in Year 3. I have two boys; Max is starting Year 8 and Lennox is football crazy and completing a Sports BTec at Carlton Town. My family and I love to go camping in Cornwall and we enjoy bodyboarding in the waves. One of my hobbies is playing the piano. I like to listen to and watch live music at Rock City.  At school I am responsible for maths and aim for everyone to leave Dovecote with a love of numbers and problem solving.

Hello, I’m Miss Woodward and I have been at Dovecote for 7 years. I am really looking forward to teaching you in year 3. It is going to be a fantastic year and I cannot wait to have fun learning together! At school, I enjoy reading, learning and acting out stories and poems. Outside of school, I like cooking, gardening and taking my dog for long country walks. I also have a house rabbit called Tails. She has lots of energy and loves waking me up in the morning!

Hello, I am Liz Farrow.  This year, I am working in Year 2 and Year 3.  When I am not in school, I enjoy going for walks and growing things in my garden.

Hello, I’m Mel Whittington.  I love to spend my free time with my family, exploring new places and having picnics.  To help me relax I like to read or go for a walk.  One of my favourite quotes is, “Nothing beats kindness.” I will be working in Year 3 every morning.

Hello, as you probably already know I am Mrs Windle and I am new to working in Key Stage 2.  I have two grown up children who have both recently finished university. I have two lovely big dogs and together we do lots of walking. In school I support children with their speech and language and I also take groups for nurture sessions.
