Admissions

Applying for a place

Dovecote is a community school and as such the Local Authority, Nottingham City Council, co-ordinates applications for places in Reception and for transfers from other schools (an in-year transfer).

However, if you would like your child to attend our Nursery, you should apply directly to the school.

The number of pupils that we can admit in each year group (our PAN) currently stands at 60 pupils for each year.

Applying for a place in Reception

Parents/carers resident in Nottingham City need to apply to the Local Authority and complete an application form. This can be done by clicking the button below.

Alternatively, you can contact the School Admissions Team on 0115 8415568, by email at schooladmissions@nottinghamcity.gov.uk or by post at School Admissions Team, Pupil and School Services, Loxley House, Station Street, Nottingham NG2 3NG and request an application form.

The form can also be collected or returned directly to the reception at Loxley House, which is easily accessible from the nearby tram stop.

For parents/carers NOT resident in Nottingham City and wishing to apply for a Reception place for their child, applications must be made on the relevant application form provided by their current home local authority.

Applying for an in-year transfer

If you have moved address, just arrived in Nottingham, or if you want your child to change schools, you can either apply online or contact the Schools Admission Team, on the details above, to request an application form.

30 Hours Funded Places

If you think your child qualifies for 30 hours free childcare, then please visit the government website to complete the online application form. https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare. Once your application has been approved, they will send you a code. We need your code, along with your national insurance number in order for your child to start with us full time. Your information needs re-confirming each term, to retain your code and full time space. Failure to do this will result in your funding being stopped by the government. Full-time places are subject to there being space.
