meet the nursery staff

Mrs Azad – Teacher

Hi, my name is Mrs Azad and I am the new Nursery teacher. I am at the early stages of my teaching career; however I have had a lot of experience working in different schools, across all year groups. I like to spend my free time travelling, when possible, and exploring different aspects of the world. I love to bring stories of my adventures into the classroom and stories of those I have met on my travels as I believe learning and knowing about other people’s culture, families and diversity opens your mind up to endless amounts of understanding and acceptance.  I look forward to helping children open their minds to the world beyond the classroom. I come from a big family and I am newly married so it just got a lot bigger! I enjoy baking when I can and have recently taken up crafting/DIY (wish me luck). I am also a huge Harry Potter fan! I look forward to seeing what the new year has to bring!

Mrs Mullen – Nursery Teacher

When I’m not busy teaching Year 6, I’m with my large family! I have 4 children. Joe who is 16, Ben who is 13 and my twins, Ruth and Will who are 10. Weekends are full of taking the children to activities such as football and kayaking. We also host big Sunday dinners! Our house is full to the brim and always very noisy!

Mrs Harris – Early Years Lead/Assistant Head

Hi, I’m Catherine Harris. I Have been teaching for twelve years. I am the Early Years Leader and one of the Assistant heads. I love teaching Early years and fostering a love of learning from a young age. Most of all I love having lots of fun with the children.

I have just come back to work after Maternity leave. I have a gorgeous baby boy who has just turned one. He is a little ball of energy and keeps me on my toes. If there was an Olympic crawling race towards something you shouldn’t touch he would definitely win!

I have two cats: Tinkerbell and Willow. They are both rescue cats. Tink likes to talk to you; she can be a bit grumpy and thinks she is the boss. She does have a soft side and has the occasional cuddle. Willow loves people, food, hair bobbles and playing fetch.  I have always been sporty and have played netball for twenty-three years. I still love it! I am looking forward to finding out more about the children and learning about their interests, hobbies and achievements this year.

Mrs Commander

I work with Year 1 and Reception children but I meet the Nursery children too.  Outside of school, I like watching Liverpool and love spending time with my grandchildren.
