Hello Dragons and Wombles

Well this has been another busy week for school and with the news in general.

Year 1 have settled back into their new school sessions, a bit strange as they are using Dragon class as a base, though it looks very different. Year 6 are also settled in now too.

We hope you have seen the news that you will be able to come and visit school during what would have been the last weeks of term. This will give us a chance to see each other as classes for a little reunion before the summer. More details for the arrangements are on the home page of the website. This is really exciting news and we are hoping you can all make it for the session.

Below is this weeks timetable and activities. Remember have a go at what you can and send us photos or messages as we love to see what you are doing. Hopefully the weather will be a bit kinder this week so we can all get out and about a bit more.

Stay safe and spread some sunshine with big smiles.

Some ideas to help you

The Hodgeheg written by Dick King-Smith

This is just one of the many books written and illustrated by Dick King Smith. His stories are chapter books and most of them have animals as the hero. This story is about a hedgehog who wants to help his family and friends but often gets in a muddle, especially with his words.

This week's lessons are all about fractions and decimals.

Click on the links to find this week's lesson videos for year 3.

Don't worry if you can't download and print the worksheets, just watch the videos and pause to work things out when you need to. If you need to do a jotting you could just use a piece of scrap paper.

If you are looking for more maths work don't forget the whole school maths challenge. Just go to the whole school page to check it out.

There is work set mymaths as well.

What at the Year 3 staff been up to?

This week saw me heading into Nottingham City Centre for the first time in three months. I went shopping for some tee-shirts for my youngest child. I must say that it was a very strange feeling being back in Nottingham and looking at the old Broadmarch and wondering whether it will ever be finished.

As usual, this week as seen us doing lots of walks along the River Trent and a trip to Wollaton Park. At Wollaton Park it was really interesting to get so close to the deer. They were behind a fence so I even managed to stroke one of them and scratch it behind its ear, which it really enjoyed.

My youngest daughter returned to year 6 this week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of meeting up with her friends and teachers again, prior to transferring to secondary school in September.
