Family Maths Challenge 22.05.20

Well done to those who had a try at the maths challenge last week. It was great to receive this photo of Morgan and Lilah having fun problem solving as a family team. We'd love to see more photos. Keep them coming!

Morgan and Lilah

Here is this week's family challenge for you to work on as a team. Remember to have fun. Solve the problems using all you know about representing numbers. Think back to your teacher talking about jottings. Have a try at drawing your own jottings at home if you have some scrap paper. It will help you along each step of the way to solving the problems and then you'll be able to check what you've done. Your teachers and I would love to see any of the work you do so please share some photos with them or Mrs Loughran at year2@dovecote.school.

Here is the next family challenge for you to work on as a team. The first couple of problems are aimed at Key Stage 1 and then the problems get more challenging but maybe an older brother, sister or grown up can help and offer some of their maths tips. Remember to have fun. Your teachers and I would love to see any of the work you do so please share some photos with them or Mrs Loughran at year2@dovecote.school.

Family Maths Challenge 8.05.20

Each Friday there will be a maths challenge for all the family to work on as a team at home. This week's is linked to cooking and baking, one of my favourite links with maths! Maybe you would like to plan to share your delicious creations as part of a celebration for the 75th anniversary of VE day this Friday. We would all love to see any photos of you having fun and enjoying this challenge at home. Please share them with your child's class teacher or Mrs Loughran at year2@dovecote.school.
