Year 2 Trip to Newstead Abbey 13th and 14th May

A new day...

After a very chilly but welcome night's sleep, we successfully packed up camp and hopefully reunited everyone with their correct belongings!!

A hearty breakfast set us up for a bracing walk to the waterfall and fort. We had our last picnic in front of the Abbey and are finishing off, letting off some steam in the new adventure playground.  Just the Japanese Gardens and an ice cream (if we're feeling brave!) before it's time to go home

Settled down for the night......

Everyone is tucked up snuggly in bed now having a good sleep ready for fun tomorrow...

Toasting marshmallows

Thanks mums (and dads) for our packed teas - we were super hungry!

We spent a fantastic afternoon doing our scavenger hunt and we all conquered our fears on the climbing wall - even the teachers!

A great afternoon ..........

Have had a great afternoon trying out the climbing wall and exploring inside Newstead Abbey - it was very posh! We found out all about Mr and Mrs Webb and their six children and we tried on lots of their hats. Next stop – the scavenger hunt! I wonder who will win the prize?

We have arrived.....

After a smooth journey, we all arrived safely. Everyone found their tents and set out their sleeping bags. Then it was time to play. The weather is brilliant so we all had to top up with suncream and find our son hats. Then, it was time for lunch. Jacket potatoes – yummy!!

Looking forward to lots of adventures this afternoon...
