100% Attendance Celebration

2(13)

As a school we are working incredibly hard this year to improve our level of attendance. We are really proud that this year we have the best attendance in the history of the school! A group of our pupils have actually managed 100% attendance. On Tuesday 4th June, Pat Ferguson, one of the City Councillors for Clifton North, visited school to congratulate these children. (Unfortunately the Year 6 pupils weren’t in school as they were on school camp at Walesby!)  She talked about what an achievement it was to be in school every day and how important she believed education is. The visit finished with her taking a ‘selfie’ with the children! One of these pupils will now be nominated to represent the school at a city wide celebration of attendance.  Councillor Ferguson had never visited the school before and she said that she was really impressed by our pupils and would love to come again!

Mathletics launched in the school. Find our more here.

Spring 2014

Sports Relief

As always everyone at Dovecote got into the swing of Sports relief.

Children and staff got their sports kits on and ran, walked, skipped and even piggy backed around the school field to complete the Sports Relief Mile!!

Well Done Everyone, you did a fantastic job!!  We raised a fabulous £306.89.

World Book Day

Children and staff had great fun dressing up as characters from their favourite books and taking part in lots of exciting book related activities.  Over £150 was raised in donations and this money will be spent on enhancing reading resources in school. To see more of our photos go to the World Book Day Gallery.

Jacob Thompson said ‘It was a great weekend!’ Owen Devos said ‘I had a fantastic, awesome weekend and the food was lovely!’
