School Council

Our school council meets regularly to discuss and sort out problems. These may include school lunches, rewards or ideas for fundraising events.

Members of the school council will be responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed, such as reporting to staff or Governor’s, writing newspaper articles, or meeting with catering staff.

Members of the Council are elected by their class and represent the views of their class mates

Our Visit to the Pupil Parliament

Year Five and Six pupils from Dovecote School Council recently joined school councils from other city primary schools to take part in the annual Nottingham Primary Parliament. The children got the opportunity to discuss issues which effect their local communities and had to think about ways they could solve or improve some of these.

The pupils from Dovecote worked with School Council members from Fernwood Junior School in Wollaton and decided they would design posters and bookmarks which showed important phone numbers such as Child line and the local PSCO.

The pupils had to then present their idea to the rest of the Primary Parliament and the Lord Mayor of Nottingham- she loved our idea! Look at for the posters and bookmarks early next term
